Once you’ve made it, expect a warm welcome from our staff (and some temptation thanks to the jelly bean jar in the lobby,) before heading up to your spacious accommodations. Our suites can fit up to six people,(based on room type booked) and all include kitchens for in-suite meals, so that you can just as easily have a day of rest as one of exploration.

If you’re ready to venture out, you can use our guide to find plenty of family-friendly restaurants and markets around the corner. You’ll be delighted to know that we’re within walking distance of can’t-miss Vancouver attractions: Sunset Beach & Park, the Vancouver Aquatic Center, and Granville Island with Kids Only Market and Waterpark, that are all just minutes away. Farther out, but still, within easy reach, there’s Stanley Park, the Vancouver Aquarium, Kitsilano Pool, the HR MacMillan Space Centre, and much more. Want to take a spin? Bike rentals for families are available through English Bay Bike Rentals, with many options for biking.

With a large selection of children’s DVD’s to use, plus HDTV children’s channels, and coloring books with crayons available, you can enjoy some quiet time while the kids play, or make bath time an adventure with special kids robes, slippers, and rubber ducks. Looking for an adults-only evening? Need a Babysitting Service why staying at the Sunset Inn & Suites?

We work with Nannies on Call, who provide extraordinary nannies to care for your family on your schedule, in your hotel room 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Childcare is available for infants, all the way up to pre-teens. All nannies are experienced and pre-screened with clear criminal record checks, valid CRP/First Aid certification, bonded, and a minimum of 2 years of child care experience, and references on file.

  • Day of care, start time and maximum hours needed
  • Valid credit card to pay agency fee upon booking (Visa or Mastercard

We will take care of your booking through Nannies on Call and you will receive an email including a brief bio of the nanny coming.

Payment

  • The agency fee is $33.00 per booking, this is taken at booking
  • On-call nanny rates are $17.00 per hour for up to 3 children in the same family (4-hour minimum)
  • Payment is made in cash directly to the nanny, or you can add the hourly charge to your total hotel bill
  • All special services and incidental fees are listed on the Nannies on Call website, under Terms & Conditions

The miniature railway is a must around Halloween and Christmas time! Take a train ride through the great Stanley Park forest. The Second Beach Pool is the hot spot throughout the summer with heated waters overlooking English Bay. Play a round at the putting green or on the spectacular 18-hole, Par 3 and Pitch n’ Putt course. Walking and cycling around Stanley Park on the Seawall, the 9 km portion around the Park takes two to three hours to walk, or one hour to cycle.

This small urban oasis is ideal for climbing and playing and has seating areas for eating lunch or snacks. It features a rubberized surface and a fast-flowing stream culminating in a tiered fountain surrounded by pergolas and lush plantings

Lord Roberts Annex, 1150 Nelson (4+)

An elementary school playground, it’s available for public use all day on weekends and between lunch and recess times on weekdays. Swings, slides and climbing apparatus available. Picnics tables for snacks.

Nelson Park Playground, Nelson at Thurlow (Toddlers+)

A small intimate climbing apparatus that is great for imaginative play near a pond.

Granville Island Playground (Toddlers+)

Located behind the Kids’ Market, this playground has swings and climbing structures as well as sand to dig in. Very near the market for snacks and lunch. You can bring bikes and rollerblades.

Granville Island Water Park (All ages)

Located behind the Kids’ Market, this is the largest free water park in North America.

Harbour Green Spray Park (3+)

Accessible from the seawall or from Bute Street in Coal Harbour, the spray park operates during the summer.
