What to do on a Three Day Weekend in Vancouver

Want to plan a perfect three day weekend getaway for you and your significant other? Look no further than Vancouver, Canada! We’ve put together an amazing itinerary of things to do during your long weekend in this amazing city.

Friday Night – Catch a Concert at Rogers Arena

Rogers Arena has a full list of events to attend this summer. While hockey season may be over, there are plenty of concerts in the lineup, including Shawn Mendes, the Lumineers, and Machine Gun Kelly! You can check the full Rogers Arena calendar of events here.

We suggest arriving in the city in the early afternoon and checking into your hotel. Sunset Inn is in the perfect location for all of the activities listed on this itinerary, as it’s only a 5 minute Uber ride to downtown (where Rogers Arena is located). Check-in time is guaranteed by 4 pm, but we may be able to accommodate an early arrival if you call in advance! Even if your room isn’t ready, we can hold your luggage up in the front.

Arriving in the early afternoon allows you to settle in and enjoy a great dinner before your concert or event at Rogers! Might we suggest heading to dinner at Chambar, which is close to Rogers and has a great atmosphere while serving Belgian cuisine and seafood.

If you are a seafood fan, might we suggest the moules frites, which are mussels with tomato coconut cream and smoked chili. So yummy! Both their outdoor patio seating and indoor seating options offer an amazing ambiance.

From there, you can walk to your event at Rogers if it’s nice out, as Chambar is only a 1.12 km (.7 mile) walk from the venue. Enjoy dancing, singing, or laughing the night away, depending on your event!

Saturday Morning – Go on a Hike in Stanley Park

Vancouver offers many different options for getting outside and being active during your stay. If you want to explore nature with the convenience of not having to drive, head to Stanley Park! Stanley Park is located in downtown Vancouver, less than a 20 minute walk from Sunset Inn. It’s an urban park that offers plenty of scenic trails in its over 1,000 acres of space in the West Coast rainforest. During your walk if you venture to the iconic seawall, you’ll enjoy scenic views of water, mountains, sky, and trees. There are plenty of historical landmarks located throughout the park, such as the First Nations totem poles. There’s also an aquarium located inside the park if you want to check that out as well!

Saturday Afternoon – Relax at Sunset Beach

Vancouver’s famous Sunset Beach is merely steps away from the Sunset Inn hotel. After your Stanley Park hike, might we suggest grabbing some wine and snacks from the nearest convenience store (there’s a Burrard & Davie Esso within walking distance of the hotel) and heading to the beach! Sunset Beach is one of Vancouver’s most popular beaches, with nice sand, grassy knolls, and an amazing view of the sunset. Either relax on the sandy shore or join one of the many pickup sporting games you’ll sure to see when you stop by.

Saturday Night – Enjoy a Sunset Cruise

Perhaps one of the most popular ways to experience the entire city of Vancouver is through one of the popular harbor boat cruises. There are many different companies and tours to choose from, but we recommend one of the sunset cruises that offers dinner and drinks as part of the experience. Most tours are about 2.5 hours and take you by the most iconic spots of the city. And the sunset view with the city skyline, Pacific Ocean, and forest as your backdrop? Talk about romantic! Check out a list of the top 10 Vancouver sunset cruises here.

Sunday Morning – Have Brunch and Enjoy a Walk Downtown

Before leaving Vancouver, spend one last relaxing morning walking around downtown. While on your stroll, stop by for brunch at Nero Waffles, a Belgian waffle bar within walking distance of Sunset Inn. They have a set of classic waffles on their menu, along with a rotating menu of flavors depending on the season. And if you are not a waffle fan? Might we recommend the yummy brussels benny! Is your mouth watering yet?

Check out is at 11 am, but we can hold your bags if your travel plans on Sunday are later in the day.

We hope you enjoy your time in Vancouver!
