The Vancouver Whitecaps season is just under a month away from kickoff. Are you getting excited for the new season to begin? We know that we are. It should be another great season of MLS (Major League Soccer) action in Vancouver and we would absolutely love to have you stay with us especially since we’re so close to BC Place (“home under the dome” of the Vancouver Whitecaps). Why would you want to stay anywhere else?
The season will kick off this year on Saturday March 2nd, 2019 as the home team will take on Minnesota United FC. After a season of retooling and rebuilding, one can only anticipate how much excitement is building for this year’s version of the Whitecaps. This season there are seven “can’t miss” and top-selling matches this season. One featuring our closest geographic rival, the Seattle Sounders on Saturday March 30th. The “glitz and glam” of the LA Galaxy come to Vancouver on Friday April 5th. Friday May 10th, yet another geographic rival in the form of the Portland Timbers will come to town. Our game will mark the first game that our new head coach, Marc Dos Santos versus Giovani Savarese, the two coaches used to be fierce rivals and competitors during their time in the NASL (North American Soccer League). On Friday May 31st, our cross-country rival of Toronto FC will be in town to challenge the home team, not that they have a reason to defeat us or anything especially since we defeated them out of contention for a playoff spot last season. On Saturday August 17th, the infamous Wayne Rooney and his team from DC United will be in town. Will you be ready for Saturday August 31st? New York FC will be in town visiting us from the “Big Apple”, not that there is a certain hype about that and them coming to town. There have been only two New York sightings in and at BC Place, you won’t want to miss this match. If you are interested in other matches, check out the rest of the season schedule here.
Soccer is likely to be the world’s most popular sport with adults and children of all ages participating and if you haven’t been to a match in Vancouver yet, be prepared to be amazed by the fast-paced action of this exciting sport that is suitable for all ages. So if you’re ready for an exciting season involving our hometown Whitecaps, come and stay with us and see all that we have to offer for every soccer fan – young and old especially when you’ll need somewhere to stay before and after the match!
We look forward to seeing you soon!
