Vancouver Folk Music Festival at Jericho Beach

Mark your calendars!  In just under two weeks yet another exciting year of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival is coming up during the weekend of July 13-15, 2018.

An unforgettable yet “incredible weekend of music from close to home and around the globe” is the statement of the day. Headlining the weekend events are: Neko Case and Ry Cooder to Rodney Crowell and James McMurtry; from The Dead South, Carole Pope and Archie Roach to Ranky Tanky, Wazimbo & Banda Kakana and Dakhabrakha.

After being founded in 1978, this Vancouver marquee event was originally held in Stanley Park and then relocated to Jericho Beach Park a year later.   Each and every year, two and even three generations of families join friends and fellow community members to share in the music, dance, food, children’s activities – and the magical ambience of the festival.Throughout the past few years, the event has played a major role in developing artists and audiences on so many different levels: regional, national and international. Vancouver’s local entertainment newspaper the Georgia Straight named the Folk Festival the “Best Local Music Festival”.  This event draws nearly 30,000+ energetic and enthusiastic participants each year.
