The middle of Fall is usually and relatively quiet in and around the city as it is also the prelude to Christmas but with still so much to do between now and Christmas. Let’s take a look at a few things happening in and around the city for things to do in November.
- Vancouver Art Gallery
- Diwali Festival (carrying over from October until November 30th)
- Eat! Vancouver Cooking and Eating Festival (for the foodie in you that wants to try something different)
- Japan Market
- Vancouver Canucks Hockey Action (Go Canucks Go!)
- American Thanksgiving (who’s bringing us turkey on Thursday November 22nd?)
November has always been a bit of a transitional month for us Vancouverites with various things to do not just in Vancouver but in the Lower Mainland as well. Not to mention that the leaves on the trees have fallen and the never-ending beauty of Stanley Park as you stroll down the Sea Wall is absolutely stunning! You won’t want to miss the waves of the ocean crashing into shore either. Perhaps a trip over to Granville Island to pick up some pumpkin pie or apple crisp? Make sure you take advantage of the False Creek Ferry if you head over.
If you’re a fan of short and quiet November nights and things to do, head over to Gastown just before the sun goes down. In November the sun usually goes down between 5pm and 6pm. Don’t miss the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the lights in the mystery that makes Gastown what it is, such as blue, gold, orange, purple, red and yellow dancing in the streets especially during the fall months and since the days get a little shorter, you won’t want to miss any of this spectacular night light show in the heart of Vancouver’s historical Gastown.
Did we mention that there are more than a few things to do in Vancouver in November? Come and stay with us! We look forward to seeing you soon.
