The Dog days of Summer are here…& there is still plenty to do around Vancouver!

So the dog days of Summer are here and it sure does feel like it in Vancouver, its been a long great Summer with plenty of dry weather for us to enjoy and all that sunshine to absorb, however as the saying goes it can feel a little too much for us locals here so we are kind of looking forward to the fresher Pacific maritime air to return.  September in Vancouver is very enjoyable, we still have reasonable day light hours, warm sunny days and comfortable fresh nights.

The Dog days of Summer refers to the final hot humid stretch and also the return of the Dog Star Sirius that shines a dazzling blue and white and heralds the return of the Winter starry constellations – so we know now that Autumn will be knocking on our door very very soon.

There are plenty of fun events to enjoy – here are some highlights we feel should not be missed…

THE PNE – Playland – September 9 to 17: Saturdays & Sundays from 10 am to 5 pm

Playland is a great place – it’s not modern and fancy like Disneyland, but still lots of fun. Think of it kind of like a large fancy midway carnival that comes to your town once a year and sets up in a parking lot – with the usual Tilt-a-Whirl, Scrambler and Ferris Wheel, but with some fancier rides too, like the giant Wave Swinger, the Beast and Hellevator.
