Here Comes Summer… Are. You. Ready?

Are you ready? For Summer?

Bring on beach volleyball, long walks along the Stanley Park Sea Wall maybe even go for a bike ride into a blissful summer solitude or perhaps a night at Sunset Beach while watching it’s namesake in progress – A glorious golden orange sunset to soothe the soul.  Maybe while you’re there, enjoy the sounds of Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) play some soothing yet summerful orchestral sounds.  On July 7th, 2019, walk down three blocks (south) from the hotel and bask in the sounds of clashing cymbals, french horns tooting, cellos stringin’ you along and maybe even hear the thundering thump of a tuba.  The VSO at Sunset Beach promises to be spectacular!

Check this out from last year’s festivities as the VSO performs one of their many varying renditions of “O Canada”:

Get ready for those summer nights where lots of events will be happening in and all around Vancouver.  From Canada Day to the Celebration of Light to Vancouver’s annual Pride celebrations and August long weekend.  Make sure to check out our next blog for more on this year’s participants!

And, not to mention that there is so much happening in-between.  We invite you to get ready to enjoy one of Vancouver biggest and best summers yet.

What’s expected to be one of the busiest summers in Vancouver history, we will have more cruise ships which means more guests for us!  Yay!  Bring it on Summer!  We’re ready for you!

Kicking off summer will be many events in and around Vancouver.  Starting on the First Day of Summer – June 21st until July 1st (Canada Day) will be the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival.  What a perfect way to start your summer break with the cool and groovy sounds of jazz and yes even be-bop too!

Wouldn’t it be amazing to hear some variations of Miles Davis’ greatest hits performed in today’s modern era?  Maybe even a little bit of Charlie “Bird” Parker, Count Basie, Dizzy Gillespie or even Thelonious Monk?  Too bad those greats are no longer with us because we are willing to bet that if each of them were alive today that they would definitely also be one of the many participants in not only our international jazz festival but all across the world where jazz is loved.

Get ready for summer ’cause here it comes!
