If you enjoy live music and you are a lover of live bands and jams then this is certainly the place for you. you will be treated to music from themselves and then treated to a rotating roster of incredible musicians who just like to play music together for you pleasure!
This is a weekly event hosted every by the fantastic band Las Divas at the Pressbox Pub in the Atrium Inn, Vancouver. Any music style is welcome and they have seen a lot of great local talent. If you aren’t a musician come dance the night away with them! While you’re here check out the menu the food is great and the servers are amazing, friendly and will give you a warm welcome.

This to us is no ordinary ‘open mic’ it is really a collection of some of the most talented musicians in Vancouver who get together for a Sunday Social over beers and laughter to belt out some original tunes and familiar songs that most of us have enjoyed through the years. You will be entertained with some raw live Blues, R n B, rock and roll, metal and jazz to name but a few.
If you are not dancing by the end of the night we feel you may need to see a doctor as these musicians from all walks of life know how to rip it up, whether it be the Axemen shredding mind blowing licks on their lead guitar, or the amazing wizardry and rhythm of the bass guitar oozing out tunes you may never have guessed the bass player could perform such sounds, and of course all married with the amazing drummers that take the seat to keep the beat and band together.
On our last visit to the Sunday Jam the music and the crowds were absolutely on fire and the beauty of all of this is that some of the guys and girls have never before played with each other nor played some of the songs they are covering, so it is really quite the spectacle to see raw infusion of talent and intuition come together within a few seconds to wow you with amazing creativity. You cannot help but feel the power and emotion as they do when playing live.
If you wish to partake in the fun and are a musician yourself get there early as it seems as of late the names and spots available for you to play is certainly in strong demand and fills up very very quickly.
The location of The Pressbox is at 2889 East Hastings St, just a few minutes walk away from The PNE fairground, so if you are down there having fun at The Hastings Racecourse or enjoying the rides at the fair, this will be a great way to end a perfect day over food and drinks! FAT TUG IPA is the drinks special that day – if you like a strong beer and with full flavour this will be perfect for you!
Highlights from Sunday July 30th 2017 gig were William S Taylor who is an artist, actor and musician originally from New Orleans, he wowed the crowd with some incredible blues soul and funk genres and it was an absolutely breathtaking performance from all involved with William fronting the band.
