27th Annual Honda Celebration of Light Fireworks
The Honda Celebration of Light is not only Vancouver’s biggest event, but it’s also the largest offshore fireworks competition in the world and attracts over 400,000 spectators along English Bay each evening. Since 2017 is Canada’s 150th Birthday year, and should be biggest world class Pyro-Musical performances each night to music Vancouver has seen. Music played on LG104.3FM
Japan- Saturday July 29th
Don’t miss the Akariya Firework team from Japan performing Winners of the 2014 Honda Celebration of Light, the Akariya Fireworks team has participated in 57 fireworks competitions in the last 3 years. Their design philosophy is to complement fireworks to the festival environment around them. The Akariya team combines this focus on creativity, with emphasis on new technologies and safety to create spectacular fireworks displays internationally.

IF YOU ARE DRIVING – important information
- Access into the West End will be restricted from 7:30PM. Access Point is on Burnaby Street, and after 7:30PM, the lineup is long. Must show reservation confirmation or room keys to drive through check point. If you can, try to arrive before this time or take taxi if possible.
- Road Closures are in effect from 7:30PM and roads will re-open once crowds have dispersed and police re-open the roads at approximately 11:00PM.
- There is no rooms at the Sunset Inn & Suites that you can view the fireworks, as too many trees and building blocking the view. But short walk to great viewing area.
