October is also a very good time to catch shows, films and music in the theaters around the city, as this is the time for the season to begin. As well as Theater, there will be plenty of comedy and improv down on Granville Island, and it is also a fantastic time to catch the Fall Colours in all their glory before the hibernation kicks in.

The Stanley Park Halloween GHOST TRAIN and Attractions
If you are brave enough, check out the annual ghost train in the dark deep forest that is Stanley Park – here the train will take you to the haunted Castle within the deep dark woods, here you will be told scary fairy tale stories….good luck!
The event runs from October 5th to October 31st. Sunday to Thursday 6 – 10pm and Friday and Saturday 6 – 11pm. Closed for Thanskgiving October 8th.

FRIGHT NIGHTS @ The PNE

VanDusen Botanical Gardens
Check out the gardens as they come alive with the most amazing Fall colours the city has to offer, if you are a fan of Fall Foliage this is one of the better places to view the stunning foliage. Not only that, but if you have time, the Gardens have various other events to choose from as well as courses that encompass lectures on Conservation, Bees and general Gardening features and tips.

Vancouver International Film Festival
Running since 1982, this has been a major festival of the Vancouver Film scene. In the movie industry, Vancouver is known as the hollywood north and for good reason. Some of you may wander round the city and think this place looks really really familiar, well you may not be going crazy – there is a good chance that you saw the city in a mainstream movie…
The film festival is great as you will get to see some fantastic movies that you may never get the chance to see again, so please go there and enjoy.
