Dine Out Vancouver Festival 2020

Imagine this, 17 days of delicious, fixed-price menus, beer and wine events, food truck fests, and even guided food tours. Lucky for you, Vancouver has made this a reality at the annual Dine Out Vancouver Festival. The event takes place from January 16th to February 2nd across Metro Vancouver with over 300 restaurants taking part in the big event. Throughout the 17 day event, there are countless activities sure to please even the most critical of foodies!

Beginning on January 16th, Dine Out Vancouver is kicking off the 2020 festival with a fun grazing-style tasting event to showcase the local food and beverage scene. You’ll be able to try bites from some of the top Metro Vancouver restaurants and sip on some wine and brews from over 20 various British Columbia vendors. Keeping things light and fun, DJ’s will spin while the guests sample the plentiful offerings and bid on culinary-themed items at the silent auction. Plus, if you find yourself needing a ride home after the big event, you can call a LYFT and receive a Dine Out discount code by entering “DINEOUT2X5” under the app’s promo section.

If street food is more your vibe, just a few minute’s walk from Sunset Inn is the Vancouver Art Gallery where you’ll find the streets lined with various food trucks and street food carts. Here you will be able to find over 20 of Vancouver’s best street food vendors, with offerings including pizza, Indian food, and even grilled cheese. Throughout the festival you’ll find live music, picnic tables, and festive balloons, making it a great family-friendly event. Not to mention, there is no cost to get into the festival.

Get Around Vancouver for the Festival

Hop the metro for a quick 12-minute ride from Sunset Inn to West Cordova Street, where you will find a warm cup of coffee. Step on to the minibus and learn about the various aspects of Vancouver’s coffee culture, which is views as some of the best in the world. On the tour, guests will be educated in all thing’s coffee, from learning about the various roasting processes to making and trying some of the favorite drinks and snacks. Lastly, guests will get a chance to learn from the best the coffee world has to offer, all topped off with sipping on what was voted the world’s best Espresso.

Ready Yourself for the Food Festival

Be prepared to get dirty, and DIY a flatbread, courtesy of Rocky Mountain Flatbread CO.! This event is held on January 21st, from 5:30pm to 9:00pm, with each seating being 1.5 hours. During your visit, you will be guided on a pizza making journey, from starters to dessert, by your pizza making host. You begin dinner with a soup or salad, handmake your very own pizza, and finish dinner with a warm double chocolate brownie (vanilla ice cream included).

Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten dessert! If you have an insatiable sweet tooth, head on down to Uno Gelato from January 23rd to January 30th, to take part in this interactive gelato-making class. Here you will take part in learning all thing gelato from Uno Gelato’s master gelato makers! Try over 10 flavors while getting your hands-on experience of making farm to cone sorbetto and gelato in the lab. Did we mention that you get to take home a personal pint of sorbet/ gelato of your choosing!
