Happy new year to everyone around the globe, we hope it has started well and brightly for all – there are some amazing events coming up to see in Vancouver during 2017 – here are some of the very best events we feel you should see when visiting Vancity if you wish to see some great entertainment. We will be posting further events as the year moves on, so if you have any questions regarding specialty events then do not hesitate to contact us via Social media such as Facebook and Twitter and you can find the very best events you wish to see and post them on our blog. This year seems to be the year of the 80s Hair metal arena bands coming to visit, so lots of memories of hair spray and mullets seems appropriate being the year of The Rooster who itself sports some funky hair styles no?

Live Music
U2 – The Joshua Tree 30th Anniversary Tour – BC Place Stadium on May 12

This was the album that propelled Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen Jnr & Adam Clayton who were popular Irish pop rockers to fully fledged stadium arena rock stars! It has their biggest well known singles such as“With or Without You”, “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and “Where the Streets Have No Name” which is undoubtedly their most popular single to date, and with Brian Eno at the helm producing the album it was bound to be huge, as he has produced other great artists such as Talking Heads to name a few. The band will kick off their tour in Vancouver where among their hits they will also play the whole album in its entirety with some of the songs never before performed live – what a treat! GUNS N ROSES – BC place Stadium on September 1
It is as close to the full original line up as you will get for now currently composed of Axl Rose (vocals, piano), Slash (lead guitar), Duff McKagan (bass), Dizzy Reed (keyboards), Richard Fortus (rhythm guitar), Frank Ferrer (drums), and Melissa Reese (keyboards). We guess these days we do not worry whether or not Axel Rose will perform or even make the whole show as it seems there is some harmony among this line up of shock rock punk metal rockers or whatever you want to call them. Like U2 this band is among the Daddies of Stadium Rock arena shows and we are sure they will be amazing to watch – prepared to be deafened!

DEF LEPPARD at ROGERS ARENA June 6 @ 7:30 pm – 11:00 pm
These group of lads from the working class areas of Northern England still know how to rock it out at the big stadiums, and, just like the other artists listed above they were also at the height of the hair metal and spandex craze that swept during the 80s. Expect the crowds to go insane when the most important member of the band ‘Eddie’ decides to say hello mid set!
