CELTICFEST VANCOUVER 2014

CELTICFEST VANCOUVER 2014

CelticFest Vancouver celebrates 10 years of bringing the finest in Celtic culture to concert halls, clubs, pubs and the streets and gathering spots of Vancouver from March 8-16. Get ready for nine action-packed days of amazing music, dance, theatre, family entertainment, spectacle and special events. Western Canada's largest and best-loved Celtic festival returns to fill Vancouver with that special Celtic spirit.
The festival marks its first decade with a roster of Celtic music's finest at the CelticFest 10th Anniversary Gala (Vogue Theatre, Friday March 14). New in 2014, The Irish Edge celebrates the glory of Irish music at The Rickshaw Theatre on Saturday March 8. The wildly popular scotch-tasting event A Whisky Kiss returns to The Cellar on March 12.  And the annually sold-out CelticFest Ceilidh heats up Vancouver FanClub with a night of rollicking music and cheer on Saturday March 15.
Ceili's Kitchen Party is sure to draw a full house to the warmth of Granville Street's Ceili's Modern Irish Pub on Thursday March 13 (tickets at the door). CelticFest also welcomes APPLAUSE! Musicals Society's Celtic musical Something Sort of Grandish to the festival. And for players and listeners of Celtic music, the CelticFest Sunday Session is back for a rousing go-round at Tom Lee Music Hall on Sunday afternoon, March 16.
Participating pubs and restaurants in downtown Vancouver's Granville Entertainment District will be rocking throughout the festival too, with popular music and dance groups on tap to perform.
The festival kicks off Saturday March 8 at The Village on False Creek with the third annual afternoon of free Celtic music and entertainment called Celts on the Creek. On March 15-16, the Celtic Village and Street Market fills both Granville Street between Robson & Nelson and the expanded area of Robson Square with free music, dance, fun and more! Tom Lee Music City Stage on Granville hosts a series of fascinating free workshops over the weekend, as well. And CelticFest's jewel and most popular event, the 10th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade enlivens downtown Vancouver on Sunday March 16, starting at 11:00 am.
