When is check in/check out time?
Answer
Check in time is 4 p.m., check out is 11 a.m. If arriving before 4 p.m., Let hotel know and they may be able to have ready earlier than 4 p.m. If your room is not quite ready, we can always store your bags and if vehicle, you can park.

Do you allow smoking on property? In the rooms?
Answer
Our downtown Vancouver hotel is completely non-smoking. A minimum $200 cleaning fee is applied to room that has been smoked in on property – On Balcony with door CLOSED may be allowed but no smoke must get into suite at any time.

How much do you charge for high speed/wifi internet access?

Complimentary high-speed wired and wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel.

Yes, offer a 24-hour fitness facility located off of the lobby. Facility includes elliptical machines, treadmill, a stationary bike and some free-weights.

There is a computer that can be used to print boarding passes or check emails available at the front desk. Copy and fax services can be also provided by the front desk. There may be a charge associated with these services.

We do not offer a complimentary shuttle service. Ways to get to/from Airport.
1.- Canada Line (our new subway line) from airport to Yale town station (27minutes), then transfer to C23 bus (25 minutes) then walk 1 block to hotel - cost is $8.75 per person from the airport, and $3.75 to the airport- cost per person
2. Shuttle van – Drop-off / Pickup is 1 block away at the Sandman Suites on Davie - cost is $15.75 - cost per person
3. Taxi- door to door (30min) - cost approx $30-35 - door to door - cost up to 4 people – 4 people maximum allowed per taxi
4. Limo- door to door (30min) - cost approx $45-55+ tax - door to door- cost of to 6 people

To Canada Place Terminal - Taxi is 15-20 minute drive and cost is approx $12-20 one way door to door – Cost up to 4 people
Limos are available approx cost $45-55
To Ballantyne Pier Terminal – Taxi is 20-30 minute drive and cost is approx $25-30 one way door to door – Cost up to 4 people
Limos are available approx cost $55-75

What are your cross streets?

We are located on Burnaby Street, with cross street being Thurlow Street. One block south of Davie Street, and one block west of Burrard Street.

Do you have onsite parking? How much is parking? Is it included in my room rate?

Complimentary gated parking for a vehicle, for as long as you stay at the hotel (a rarity for a hotel in downtown Vancouver!). Additional vehicles above one per room, are charged at a rate of $25.00+ HST per extra vehicle (subject to availability)

We are downtown, within 2 minutes to Major Street with restaurants and shops, 10 minutes to major shopping area (Robson)

Can we drive, walk, bus, or bike to Stanley Park?

YES, you can walk, or bus (#19 direct to Inside Park or #6 to entrance) or bike rentals on Davie street

How far is public transit from hotel?
Answer
One block to buses, and close to both Skytrain, and Canada line subway system.

Is your neighborhood safe?
Answer
Very safe, people out 24 hrs a day as many restaurants, grocery stores and even drug stores are always open nearby (We always tell guests that we never feel unsafe walking in this neighborhood, no matter what the hours)

Relatively quiet, as we are off the main street (Davie) though there is still some noise from alley. Higher rooms are quieter.

Will your rooms allow rollways/cribs/playpens / Strollers or Car Seats? Is there a charge?
Answer
Most of our rooms can accommodate rollway's/cribs/playpens except studio suites. Rollways are available for a charge of $10 per night plus tax. Cribs and playpens are provided complimentary and are subject to availability.

I booked on a website other than the hotel website and I need to make a change to my reservation. How do I do this?

What is the minimum age requirement to check in to the room?
Answer
Must be age of 19 or over for booking a reservation, and checking in.

What is your cancellation/deposit policy?
Answer
If a reservation under 29 nights is cancelled or changed within 48 hours (two days) of your scheduled arrival date, you will be charged for one night's stay (plus applicable taxes).
If a reservation of 29 or more nights is cancelled or changed within seven days of your scheduled arrival date or change, you will be charged for a seven night's stay.

Yes, we do require a government issued photo ID at the time of check in for all reservations, along with a valid credit card.

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners, Discover Cards – along with legal picture ID. Full payment will be held as a pre authorization at time of check in and credit card. Completion upon check out.

Kids 9 and under stay for free in existing bedding when accompanying an adult.

Do you have connecting rooms?

Total of 5 rooms per floor – One Studio Suite, Three One Bedroom Suites, One Large One Bedroom Suite per floor- no adjoining doors. Rooms on the same floor are on a request basis and can not be guaranteed.

Can you accommodate long-term stays?

As we were built as an apartment building, our downtown Vancouver hotel offers full suites which are perfect for long term stays. We offer daily, weekly and even monthly rates year round based on availability. Please see www.sunsetinn.com/extended.php for more info.

Can we have a high room and a specific view?
Answer
We do not guarantee specific rooms or views; however we do try our best to meet requests, if available at time of check in. For better views, must book executive rooms, with executive large being the only rooms that may have view and quiet "residential street facing windows", in both bedroom and living room.
