The Sunset Inn & Suites is excellent --like living in a renovated home with maid service. Excellent help at front desk (upgraded us to an executive large suite). Secure parking at rear of hotel. Granite countertops, hardwood floors, Koehler taps, gourmet coffee maker, high end comfortable bed and pull-out couch. State of the art air-conditioning . Top notch materials from nice decor wallpaper to coating on deck floor to rain shower head into large Jacuzzi,
We are a family of five, with three young girls and we did not feel crowded, with a separate bedroom, family room and kitchen.
What did I like best? Well, all of it.--the clean room, lots of towels and pillows and large flat screen Phillips TV. Davie Street around the corner with tons of restaurants and the three block walk to the seawall, walking with the joggers and cyclists was nice too. From there, buy an all-day pass for the water taxi and float to Granville Island Market, Chinatown and Gastown.
Don't waste your money anywhere else. Love the Sunset Inn & Suites like you will love this city. We will be back, hopefully sooner rather than later.

I would highly recommend the Sunset Inn & Suites. My daughter, mother and I stayed here during the first week of June and really enjoyed the hotel. The high point was Sarah at the front desk. She was very personable and since it was our first time in Vancouver, gave us some great tips. She is a gem. The hotel is very nice, and the location couldn't have been better. Close proximity to restaurants, bars, grocery and drug stores. Really walking distance (even for those of us not in great shape).

Many restaurants with high quality food at reasonable prices are located very close by. The location is perfect. The Sunset Inn & Suites is a very welcoming place, with a friendly staff. The two suites I have stayed in have been perfect, with clean rooms and wonderful kitchen. Amenities include fee WiFi, daily newspaper, umbrella use, use of computer at front desk to check email and print boarding passes, great continental breakfast, free phone, laundry facility, etc. I could go on and on praising the Sunset Inn. My son and his wife and in-laws were at the Sheraton, but I am so glad that I stayed at the Sunset Inn & Suites. I felt at home.

The Sunset Inn & Suites is excellent for a stay of several days in Vancouver --so much so that we regret we were here only one night! The kitchen and dining areas in each suite are a good set-up, allowing guests to eat in if they wish. The unexpected delivery to our room of a morning paper was a nice touch.

We will definitely return to the Sunset Inn & Suites. Our suite was comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, clean and bright. Usually we have sleep troubles with our 2 year old when travelling, but this was the first time she felt comfortable and "at home". The location is great...right on a residential street where noise was minimal. Parking was free, which is hard to find when you're downtown. The morning breakfast spread was wonderful too! I would highly recommend the Sunset Inn & Suites to anyone looking for that home away from home feeling.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sunset Inn & Suites this last weekend. It was our first stay and will not be our last (we've just booked for January 2010). The front desk staff were warm and welcoming. And the kitchen was the nicest and best equipped that we have experienced outside of France. The room was quiet, which is pretty amazing given the great variety of restaurants and shops just one block away. I could hardly believe that parking was free in any downtown Vancouver hotel. We had been concerned that by staying in downtown Vancouver, we would add significantly to the time it took to reach our scheduled event in Steveston, compared to where we usually stay in Richmond, and were amazed that it added only about 5 minutes or so to our usual travel time.

After realizing (30 minutes before we were to arrive) that I had made a mistake in making my reservation (totally, my fault) and that I had not actually booked a room like I thought I had 3 weeks earlier, the staff at Sunset Inn and Suites were amazing. Not only did they manage to provide us with the room we wanted, they also had cribs ready for the kids and the room was ready before the standard check in time. As usual, the room was spotless and everything was great. We have stayed at the Sunset Inn and Suites before and feel like it is our home away from home when we are in Vancouver.
Thanks again and we will see you when we are back in town in a few months.

My husband and I only stayed at the hotel for one night, and it was at the end of a 10 day vacation. I left my entire bag of jewelry in my room, and the wonderful staff at the Sunset Inn and Suites never even opened it! The honest housekeeping staff turned it in. The very nice night manager, Al, assured me he had it, and the General Manager, Michael Wright made sure it was mailed to me promptly. When I received it , I was so thankful, it restored my belief that there are honest people in the world. Not one item was missing. In addition to this wonderful treatment, we were very happy with the location of the Sunset Inn and Suites - just a quick walk to the ferry to Granville Island and the shops were just a few blocks away in the other direction. The hotel was very clean, but most of all, the staff were honest and pleasant and very helpful. They should be commended and everyone should patronize the Sunset Inn & Suites for demonstrating their integrity! Thank you again Sunset Inn. I love Canada!
